ok, last month my coolant box cracked. got that fixed, got new clamps and had the reservoir refilled (obviously). now, i was at the lakes this morning, and my light came on.
i pop the hood to see my coolant is bone dry as can be. i mixed in some cheap (only kind i could find) coolant 50/50 with water. should i go for factory coolant or no?
i have a 250mi drive on monday to get my dp's installed. should i get them to drain it and fill w/ factory coolant? also, in the manual it says the coolant is permanent (doesn't need to be changed).
so whats this all about? i didn't see a puddle on the ground nor a leak in the engine bay. TIA

so you can top it off.
If you put in standard coolant in you might want to have someone flush out the system and put in some G12.

get the G12 from the dealer. You might also want to find where that coolant went - hopefully it isn't mixing with oil somewhere.

If bumper has been removed from vehicle, open drain tap on bottom of radiator (left side) by turning anti-clockwise. Fit drain hose on connection if necessary.
If bumper has not been removed from vehicle, pull out retaining clip on bottom hose going from radiator to engine (right side), and pull hose off radiator.
