Coolant sensor replaced. Some questions.

Coolant sensor replaced. Some questions.
I have an early 2001 (Old badges, F-Hose etc., H-Box). I had a few DTC relating to the coolant sensor so I decided to replace with 059-919-501-A and the O-Ring.
My original coolant sensor had the following part # etched on it. 078-919-501-C. The parts appear to be the same, except the oringal is black instead of the replacement green. Can I assume that the replacement part supercedes the orginal coolant sensor ?
