Default coolent temperature sensor o-ring question

Just replaced the passenger side EGT so I decided to replace the coolent temp sensor while I was in there. When I got the CTS out I noticed that there was NO o-ring but I thought maybe I just dropped it when I was pulling the sensor out. Went to put the new sensor and o-ring in and there is no frickin way that thing would fit with the o-ring on it so I put it in without the O-ring and it fit nice and snug. Buttoned everything back up and will give it litte drive to see if I have any leaks but I was just wondering if anyone else has had troubles with the o-ring and left it off???

Thanks

Default Why did you change the passenger side EGT?

I'm asking because I got an EGT error code (see my post below from about an hour ago) and I don't know how to figure out if it's the driver's side or passenger side that's causing the CEL. What's the difference between the EGTs?

Default Bank1 = Passenger side / Bank2 = Driver side.

FYI

Default 2nd. if you really DON'T have an oring and you go for a drive, your coolant will go all over.

if you want to be sure, pull the sensor back out, and stick your finger in the tube to see if you can find the o-ring that way... they do get kinds old and crusty. i replaced mine with the sensor when my g62 went bad.
