Cooling the turbos

OK lets say that I want to let my turbos cool appropriately. The manual says one minute of idling.
I live in a place where I have at least 2-3 minutes of 30 mph driving without stops before I get home. It seems that in 5th or 6th gear the car is at about 15-1800 RPM and I don't think (corret me if I am wrong) the turbos are even spooling. Woulden't this highly conservative driving allow my turbos to cool sufficently without idling in front of my house?
Thanks.

I just wonder how you get to 6th with "30 mph driving".
If you are coasting (cruising) and NOT getting on the pedal AND not going up a hill, it's fine.
Otherwise I would better have 3rd., even with some boost (hill, etc.) it would be fine.
The problem with 6th at low speeds is that any acceleration/load WILL require the turbos to do ALL the work.
Either way, should be ok from your post info.

for the "door ajar" bell, as soon as it goes off I turn off the car. In cases where i've been driving fast I wait a little more.

I'll probably get flamed by someone for saying this but, if your not goosing it (ie. if your just driving with the flow of traffic,), you don't need to cool down. I think it is hard not to drive this car and not spin the turbos. On the other hand, if you've just exited the hwy going 90, let it cool.

I would actually avoid driving at 1500 RPM in 6th gear at 30 mph. If you touch the throttle at all you'll be in lug city and you'll spin up the turbos.
Just drive normally (accelerate *slowly* through the gears up to 3000 RPM or so and shift). Heck, you can drive at 5000 RPM and not use the turbos.
Same goes for warmup -- don't religiously short shift at 2000 RPM because the oil is cold. Just don't accelerate hard, because that's when the ECU says "gimme air!" and the turbos go hog wild.
Anyway, w.r.t. you question, a few minutes of mellow driving at the end should mean you can idle it for less time. I typically idle my car for about a minute when I stop, unless I've been really on it just before stopping (which is rare).
