Could a broken/damaged ECT cause bad gas mileage?...

Thanks...right now the only codes are for my ECT. I already have the part...

but I replaced the part in front of the radiator thinking it was the ECT so I now have to put the stock part back in and change the sensor under the MAF. Annoying but hopefully it fixes the problem.

Just because something doesn't throw a code doesn't mean it's not broken.
