Could my EGT sensor 1 be causing the ECU to run the conservative timing I'm logging?

Default Could my EGT sensor 1 be causing the ECU to run the conservative timing I'm logging?

I've had intermittent cels for 6 mo or so from EGT No. 1 and I've reciently began using my vagcom for data logging. I've notice that my timing curve is way more conservative than what a lot of guys are showing on here.

To generalize the results.

I see 5-9.5 deg (fluxtuating) from 3K-5.9K and
10deg tappering to 15deg by 6800.

It has even been like that while on 101 octane for Sunday's dyno. My maf readings are good and peak in the 250-265 range.

My dyno numbers (see below) for stg 2+ are strong and achieved with this conservative timing, but I can't help thinking that I'm not seeing the engine's full potential when I see guys finishing at 25 or higher deg.

So could it be the faulty EGT limiting timing or potentially the APR code is too conservative? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Faulty EGT readings will certainly affect performance.

Does anyone have an 003 block graph for APR on 93? To compair timing.

A faulty EGT can cause you to go into limp mode.

Default EGT could be affecting it. I'd go ahead and replace it if its DTC'ing some.

APR timing on v5 is single digits to high teens on a pull usually. Can be improved a little with Lemmi.

I used to see 270gps on mine at Stg2 w/o DPs. What altitude are you at? 900-1K Ft here.

Mine's bad; mpg has gone down, as well as performance.

Default Sea level essentially. I was under the impression that APR programming...

resisted any sort of lemi tuning. It would be nice to pick up a little extra timing throughout, but I really should take car of the EGT anyways. Plus its the passenger side, shouldn't be too hard.

Where did you get the 80's 4 ring logo for the side of your car? How much?

Previous owner did it. You could probably get one at an automotive graphics shop
