How were you planning to have the GPS transmit its position?

Default Theoretically, if they allowed such a service all the thief would have to do is

clip the wire to the antenna, and your car would disappear off the webpage.

I'm sure the service will be available in the not-too-distant future, since it's merely an extension of existing technology. But it's only useful as long as the thieves don't know you can track the car. As soon as they catch on about GPS tracking, they will look to cut the magic wire. That's a lot of money to spend on a short-lived solution.

Default Car PC

I've been looking into one, and you could certainly do this if you had one hooked up. the GPS pucks are 40-100$ I seriously doubt a car theif would even know it was there since a car PC isn't exactly a stereo, and if you had it installed right, it'd be hard to find. You could also power the GPS side from a seperate power source if you were that concerned.

Just a thought.

Default It's already available, my parents used to own a 2001 CLK 55

where they would call our home phone if the alarm went off for a specific time interval. Really neat feature, I'm surprised it's not available as part of On Star.
