Could the Navi's gps system allow me to track my car if it happened to get stolen??

I'm sure the service will be available in the not-too-distant future, since it's merely an extension of existing technology. But it's only useful as long as the thieves don't know you can track the car. As soon as they catch on about GPS tracking, they will look to cut the magic wire. That's a lot of money to spend on a short-lived solution.

I've been looking into one, and you could certainly do this if you had one hooked up. the GPS pucks are 40-100$ I seriously doubt a car theif would even know it was there since a car PC isn't exactly a stereo, and if you had it installed right, it'd be hard to find. You could also power the GPS side from a seperate power source if you were that concerned.

where they would call our home phone if the alarm went off for a specific time interval. Really neat feature, I'm surprised it's not available as part of On Star.
