Default Couple of quick questions, dtc and battery...repost for night crew

Well it seems as if my ecs afterun switch has finally taken its toll on my battery. The car will NOT start when the system is on, however if i wait until it stops i can start the car with a little trouble, soooo the battery is probably dead right?

Question: What is a good "lighter than stock" or lightweight battery for a warm weather climate that will work fine with the switch and be a fairly easy install.

Second question, car threw this code...what needs to be fixed

Default First, if you're having starting problems, a lighter battery is not the answer

Reducing battery capacity is a bad idea. I would stick with the OEM battery - mine lasted 120k, 70k of that was with the after-run switch.

Default well even something that can save a little weight and give the same amount of juice would be good

Default Yeah, it's heavy, and not in the optimal place, but...

Weight is a function of capacity with lead acid. Do you spend more time on the track than you do on the street?

More track time, get the light battery.

More street time, get the OEM battery.

I think I paid $112 at a VW dealer. You can try Sears/Die Hard if that's too much $
