Default Crash BT- thanks for any advice fellas:

Bad week: hit during turn...front end very smashed up (needs new bumper)

Good: ICs not broken, no leaking coolant

Bad: bent bumper shock (i think?- will post pics soon)

At excellent shop now. Guy (who knows these cars) said, "it's border line" for being totaled.

At least 4k in damages.

Car: CPO'ed,owned since 2003 with 37k, currently has 107k on it. All maint, **** owner

- has anyone gotten car totaled in this situation and sold? (the car drives fine)

- is there a market to sell this car as a project?

thanks, sorry no pics, will post soon

Default I'm not sure if you meant it that way, but a car getting totaled has nothing to do with

whether it drives or not. It's simply an equation the insurance company applies to determine whether the cost of repairs would exceed a given percentage of their estimate of the car's value.

Cars are expensive to repair, and parts and labor add up very quickly. What will you need to replace? Bumper, hood, body panels, lights, radiator, suspension, ...? Was there damage to the frame? Once you see an itemized list with costs you'll probably do a double take.

Sorry this happened to you

Default Rory, thanks for the information. My biggest concern is frame damage,

radiator appears to be fine. Bumper and hood need to be replaced.

This is good to know as I get further in the process. Thankfully I a competent shop with experience is handling it.
