only while turning right. and seemingly only when the front (maybe front left) suspension is loaded or flexing.

I STFA and thought it was the steering u-joint through the firewall, so I lithiumed it like crazy. didn't help a lick. I can feel the groan through the steering wheel.

Is this possibly a control arm sound? What else moves and should be greased? Most times, at rest, the car doesn't groan, so it'd be hard for just me to diagnose.

check your boots on your tie rod ends and control arms

rack failed and pissed all of the fluid out. now with my fresh rack, all is quiet again :/

2nd. Check your power steering fluid as a starter

Check stabilizer bar end links and bushings. They can creak pretty good.
