Default CT peeps beware of 105 Octane at Sunoco in Fairfield off I-95...long

My brother thinks he finally figured out the last issue with the car. He just did big turbos etc. on his 300ZX TT and is now solidly in the 450-500 RWHP range. He thought he had all the bugs worked out and eagerly went to check it out at 22psi with the 105 octane. Didn't click at the time because so many changes over this past winter but it was misfiring etc. Started to go away and then he treated himself to a few more gallons and it was back! Sure enough, this station uses this one pump for 105 in the summer and KEROSENE in the winter!!!! We are convinced that the injectors were clogging with the leftover schwag from the kerosene the winter remains so a bottle of injector cleaner with a tank of 94 and all is well again. Later that evening he had the pleasure of shaming a new 996 TT. The Turbo had no idea what was coming when he instigated that friendly match-up and it was plainly obvious that he was giving everything he had in his $100+K toy! Don't get me wrong - 993 TT is my all time favorite car but too many attitudes go unchecked in Fairfield County so someone's gotta keep the egos in check around here.. 8-)

Anyone know a reliable source for 100+ octane in Fairfield County?

So they run 105 in the summer and jet fuel in the winter?

Default Do you know which specific VP fuel this is? I can't find a 105 octane on their site....

looking for a (R+M)/2 = 105, but don't see one. Wonder what is actually at that pump?

http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp_01_fuels.html?mgiToken=0C15B7C806989F961#unlead ed</a

Default Not Jet Fuel - Heater Fuel

You know, that stuff you need for your torpedo heaters in climates that have seasons.

Commercial Jet Fuel (Jet Fuel A) is little more than Kerosene.

Default I'm guessing it's "MOTORSPORT 103", as I believe 104+ is not street legal, so doubtful sold at a

standard gas station, at a pump. Oh, wait a minute, I know of 114 leaded at a pump, so maybe this thought is not valid

Default I would report that Sunoco, they aren't really supposed to be doing that.....(more)

Sunoco only makes 100 and 104 Octane in unleaded form.( (R+M)/2 Method ) It might have been 104 Octane but they aren't "supposed" to be selling that for road use. If it was 105 Octane I assume for some reason they are going by the RON octane rating method. (Which goes against the yellow sticker we all normally see that uses the (R+M)/2 Method.) Its fine to use that method but sorta odd, since most places the standard is (R+M)/2. I would call the number you can find on that site I have linked in this post. Only a few places a CT sell GT100 assuming thats what you actually got, and they aren't on the list. The big thing though is using the pump for dual duty and thats probably a no-no with Sunoco.
