hey guys,
i just replaced/refabbed my spider hose. at first i wasnt going to do it, but after inspecting it, it literally cracked in my hands.
i barely even flexed it! o well, you know what that meant... replace or make myself a new one.
for those of you w high mile cars, or for those who run your cars hard, check up on it. im sure its FAILING as we speak. if there is oil buildup on it, its time for a new one.
anyhow, since i had all these spare goodies lying around, i decided to use them to make my own, and while i was at it, made me an OCC as well. everything is pretty straight forward. i used some pretty serious lines to replace the existing ones. they should hold up great against the heat, and look a lot nicer too (i could care less).
finally, the OCC. i have a few questions regarding this. i wanted to know if:
-i had my lines routed properly (they should be, i used previous AW data to make mine).
-regarding the height of the OCC, does it need to sit below the PCV's height? im most likely running it behind the firewall.
- will i be fine running both fittings to the cap instead of 1 on top and the other on the side right? i did this so that caught oil could be removed easier - just unscrew and open sesame.
to the gurus and self proclaimed gurus... please let me know your thougths regarding my OCC inquiries. special thanks to DonQ, MJTaylor, BLK01S4, and islandboyjeprocks for the write-ups.
just so that this may be easier for the next guy... attached is the holygrail link for OCC's that i used. hope it helps (it honestly just confused me, but def helped).
enjoy, and cheerio!

now, for how i routed my OCC... the single clear line goes to back of IM. the double clears go to OCC.

the new part is completely different. Way more robust with double insulated tubing and even heat reflecting shields.
