Default Dealer can't do 50K service if only 1 mile over 50k? WTF?

I finally am reaching the end of my warranty. Called to schedule for 50k service. The dealer says they can't do the 50k warranty service if the car is over 50k? Sheesh, I figured they would allow you to be a little over or under the 50k number without it being a big deal. I am currently at 49,200 and hopefully will not go over the 50K mark by next week when I made the appointment.

Thought this might be helpful for those approaching the 50k mark. Schedule early!

A dealer who wants your future business will record 49,980 miles, regardless.

Default They should be a bit flexible. IIRC, doesn't the warranty coverage start from the intial ...

purchase mileage? So if the car had 53 miles on it when it was delivered to you (assuming it was new), then doesn't the warranty go until 50,053 miles? I thought I remember reading that in the warranty booklet, but I could be wrong.

And I guess Audi Advantage is technically different than warranty but I would think it would have the same mileage limitations.

Sounds like he's either being an @$$ or he doesn't want you coming in with 51 or 52 K

Default It is dealers like that (and our own TW Audi here) that I'm may go to the dark side.

I looked at a '03 M3 yesturday....very tempted.

The Audi delaership here in Indy has a long way to go before I would consider buying a car from them.

Default Nah...I think he's just being honest.

My dealer is pretty good about stuff...but they would probably tell me the same thing. If I rolled over 50K, they *might* consider writing up the paperwork indicating I was under 50K, but I KNOW he really doesn't like to do things like that. Sounds to me like 4rings' dealer was being nice by giving him a heads up. I wouldn't take it the wrong way. AoA makes the rules...if you don't them, take it out on AoA, not the dealer.

Default Yeah, other than this issue, the dealer has been really good to me.

Figured it was an AoA thing and not a policy set by the dealer. Should turn out OK. Just wanted to warn others that are getting close to 50k.

Default What's involved in 50k? Isn't it just an oil change? And yes, post the name. Nothing like a good

public shaming!
