Default Dealer Installed Hands-free Motorola cellular telephone??

Does anyone have one of these installed...if so, where is the phone installed and what are you general impressions?

Default It looks huge...and appears to get in the way of the passengers left knee (or so the pics suggest)

I am looking to integrate my Nokia 6162 somehow...I know I will lose some features...but I won't crash the car.

I think it mounts inside the arm rest. Pops up when you open the armrest and press a button.

Default I've got one...

installed on my '98.5 A4. Quality of the phone is fine - fits into the center armrest and lifts up and toward the dash as button is pushed. I've never been able to program the voice activation feature though, despite multiple tries. It was also about $800 when I bought it in '98 - price is now a bit more than half that - as with all technology, prices fall over time. I plan to get another with my S4 - I just like having a phone in the car that's always charged. Phone is analog with no plans as I understand it, to go digital - although BMW is doing that later this year.

Default I was thinking of something different that yours...

The one I saw had a rather large phone mounted on the passenger side of the
tranny tunnel...it looked considerably in the way. I want my interior to stay as it is...
if I can get something into the armrest ...that would be best.

You got any pics?

No pics, but the main reason I ordered the "Audiphone" was it's mount within the armrest - totally out of the way, and not visible when parked. I don't like the sidemount setup either.

Default In the arm rest, pops up and out on a craddle, analog hone, better reception then my digital handy..

speaker, stereo, mute, hands free work great. I only wish it was voice activated.

Cell One also allows me to use the handy and keep the same number...

Default analog better than Cell One (TDMA)

No wonder the analog sounds better than your digital. Cellular One/AT&T uses TDMA, and it sounds terrible (although it varies from place to place). CDMA and GSM sound much better. As you point out, even analog sounds better.
