I was about 1 mile from a gas station when I felt my car stutter, like it was not getting enough gas. I quickly turned the a/c off and limped to the gas station. It seemed 2nd gear was the worst stuttering, with third and fourth almost normal. After I filled up, the car behaved normally. I know it's a bad thing to drive your car near empty, just how bad? For those interested, I managed to pump only 15.25 gallons. I find this odd since the car should have a 16.4 gal. fuel tank.

NO, I've put 17.83 in before with a receipt to prove it by mistake, you will be fine.

Gas tank is an upside-down U shape. You can run out of gas with gas still in the tank.

blew the fuel pump - apparently resulted from over spinning the pump with no resistance. needed a tow and new pump. if your still driving, you're probably fine.
