Default Did I fry my clutch?

Well I think the subject says it all. Why do I think I fried my clutch? Well when engaging first, I get to the catch point and slowly release the pedal while giving some gas. Today it has given me a sound at about 1000Hz and sounds like a tone. It goes away once the clutch pedal is released all the way. This only happens in when engaging first. Any ideas? Did I fry the clutch?

Default Here's the test:

Drive forward so your bumper (hopefully plate-free) is against a smooth, immovable object. Don't do this against anything that could cause marks.

Once you are right up against it, keep it at idle while slowly letting out the clutch ALL the way. The engine should stall. If not, the clutch is fried.

Default It does stall...

So what could it be? Bad throw-out baring? Also, what sound does the Quattro system make when transferring torque around? Does it make a tone sound ever? But this happened two times on flat road, and once on an incline?

Default Hmmm, I guess my method is for front-wheel drive with rear parking brakes only...

Let the clutch out at 2500 rpm in 3rd gear. It should stall instantly. If not it's cooked!

That won't produce enough load to tell if it slips at higher rpm

It sounds like a dry release bearing, (now that I fully read your post)
