Did I get taken?

I recently bought what I thought was a new 2000 S4 that had been a Audi of America test car. The dealer was selling the car as new since they had thought it had never been registered, even though it did have 3000 miles on it. I did get a pretty good deal on the car...
Anyway, when the dealer tried to send in the DMV paperwork, the DMV rejected the papers because the car had already been registered. Instead, the dealer had me sign a used car agreement for them to send to the DMV.
My question is warranty related. If the car was used, shouldn't I get the Audi "pre-owned" warranty, ie.
"Now you can buy a pre-owned Audi with confidence. Our comprehensive Audi Assured Limited Warranty backs our Audis like never before. It is one of the best in the business -- 5 years/75,000 miles from the original new car in-service date."
Is there anything else I'm missing. I love the car, but I hate the feeling that I might have been screwed ;-)

Yeah, the warranty started in 1999 when the car was initially registered. That's why I think I'm probably entitled to the Audi Assured Limited Warranty. I wonder if this limited warranty will cover the turbos...

Since the car had title I would consider it used. I'd let the dealer know you're happy with the car, but have concerns about the "new"/"used" status of the car when you bought it. See how they react to your initial inquiry. If they get nasty i'd consider letting them know of your dissatisfaction with their reaction and let them know that if you can't find compromise you'll pursue taking things to Audi, Audi of America, the Better Business Bureau and will pursue legal counsel.
Talk to the salesman in person and then the manager if the salesman doesn't take you serious.
I'm not trying to get you to lean towards the heavy handed stuff too soon, but realize if you tactfully approach them they may realize their error. In addition you'll raise their awareness that you mean business and know the ropes to get them slammed.
Ultimately it does sound like you're happy with the car. Make sure you let them know that first, but try to get them to alay your fears of being taken. Give'm a chance and then play hardball.
