Default did i switch the polarity (+/-) of my new JBL rear deck speakers?

Here is what I did (don't know if you can tell if I did this right) in regards to installing my new JBL GTO rear deck 6.5" 2-ohm speakers.....

On the JBL speaker itself there was a wide male spade and a not-so-wide male spade. My guess - the wider one is for power, and the not-so-wide one is for ground. So, I attached a female spade to the black/white wire from the bose connector that I chopped off the orginial stock bose speaker. And I attached a femal spade to the black wire from this connector.

Then I put the wider male spade and black/white spaded cable together and then put the not-so-wide male spade to the black female spaded cable. Is this correct? Or did I switch the polarity?

can anyone tell? cause even with these speakers, i feel like i dont have as much bass as the stock bose speakers provided.

Default If you get better bass with the balance all the way to the right or

all the way to the left than you do with the balance in the center then you probably have issues with reversed polarity on at least one speaker. But if they're both reversed then i'm not sure how it'll sound. Hope this helps.

Default hmm, havent tried this but will. im just confused on if i got the polarity right or not...

i did what i mentioned to both speakers. so either i leave it or just to switch them both (which is not a problem, but i want to make sure).

Default Usually + = small spade / - = large spade

use a 9 volt battery to test if the speaker first pops out, if it does then it is correct. if it sucks in, then switch them.

The narrow stock female connector is the possitive.

Other way around. + = wide spade, - = narrow spade.
