Default The oil lines are only part of it. The turbos have been changed internally as well.

I believe APR has some info on this. They dissected an old turbo, and a new upgraded one. There is a difference in the oil delivery to the bearings.

Default Yes, I know. I have to wonder if just changing the oil lines on the 2000 cars will be enough...

My S4 is a 2000 model and has a very noticeable "siren" sound. I've run 0W-30 mobil 1 since the first change and always cool the car down properly. If it's not too much hassle, I'd swap the oil lines when I do my downpipe install, but that may not be enough to cure the problem. At this point, it's too early to tell.

Default 2001 and I have the siren sound when cold.

I don't think the siren sound means that you will have a turbo failure. Unless it is real loud then you have a problem.

Default Would't expect different, we are talking about the TRUTH, right ?

We needed somebody that works and memorizes cars and parts and works with them
everyday:

Dealer or 'shops'.
Dealers are taught to lie, shops can be intimidated by maker, etc. but it this age, it's all about the truth, as it will come out sooner or later.

Perhaps AUDI didn't think us enthusiast would get to the bottom of things, perhaps they thought getting out the easy way and do it on a 'case by case' basis and treat you like they gave you something away and you are one 'lucky' sob.

As I said earlier, I am extremely disappointed at 'this' (AUDI) car maker, even Dodge handled issues like this much better.

But then again, I guess Dodge doesn't expect 'many' customers to check TSBs for their car and AUDI KNOWS better about the kind of customers it has.

SO they DO know WE KNOW they know we know...
Either way, the lion is out, AUDI, you better suck up nicely to us, how about for starters :

Synth Oil change no extra cost ? (C'mon chepo, BMW does it).

Send us 'whiners' some nice souvenirs, race tickets, special test drives, you know it, I don't need to do your 'customer retention' work.
