GHETTO DIY in-car camera mount. Yes, that's right, for the princely sum of $.49 you too could have yourself this fine piece of automotive engineering:
TEH Mount:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/99226/diy_camera_mount.jpg">
The view from the camera, slight zoom. Note: also works on the front passenger seat.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/99226/diy_cam_mount_view1.jpg">
Needed:
Drill
1/2" drill bit
screw... 1/4" x 1" for my camera and board (a 1x4)
1/4" drill bit (I used 3/16" and wiggled it, ghetto style)
Screwdriver
Directions:
1) Find scrap wood in garage, shed, or whatever (preferably from a 1x4 or 1x3)
2) Cut to length if needed (15-18" will work)
3) Pull out back passenger head rest (or front passenger) and draw your drill marks, leave 2+" on window side
4) Drill w/ 1/2" bit and move around at an angle so the hole is like a slight hourglass shape
5) Figure out where camera screw will go and drill the small hole
6) Screw camera on
7) Slide new, flashy camera mount board thingee on headrest ALL the way up, around bend
8) Put headrest on, hit play, and go run the quarter or something
May also mount backwards when out clubbing baby seals.
Spray paint is optional.
Only problem, pushing play from the driver's seat is *nearly* impossible. Perhaps, a ghetto DIY method to hit play will follow... stay tuned... :P
