Do Abt, GIAC or APR produce boost in first gear?

My boost starts to drop off at 6000 rpm as well. 4000-5500 rpm is "high" rpm to me. You trying to make me paranoid or something?! :-) My turbos are happy with their ABT buddy.

All chip tuners that I know of, taper the boost up top to avoid overspinning the turbos. Also, boost in 1st and 2nd gear is lower to avoid the same.
The KO3 runs out of breath at 6000 rpm, and in order to keep the boost up, the turbos have to be maxed out, and wrung like a chickens neck. This creates more heat, and becomes counterproductive. Heatsoak is greater when you run more boost than the OE turbos and intercoolers are designed to handle.
At lower rpm's, the turbos don't need to spin as fast to make 16-17 psi, so it's ok to run that much boost, under say, 5000 rpm or so.
You should not rejoice in having full boost up top, IMO. I would be concerned about the life of the turbos.

Good. As long as it tapers to around 12 psi near redline, and makes no more than 12 psi in first gear, you should be ok.
