Do BPVs open while your accelerating? hmm....honking noise?

Default oh duh...i had a brainfart for a minute
the wastegate diverts <i>exhaust</i> gas, not intake gas.

Default Ok. So....
Back to my original question: When I'm accelerating I'm hearing a slight "honking" noise, like if you were to blow over a coke can or something...does NOT happen when I'm shifting. Does this mean the noise is related to my wastegate? Also...don't the BPVs release boost when you let off the accelerator? I would get the "blow-off" noise on my busted BPVs when I shifted AND when I let off the accelerator. TIA...

Default yep - any time there is a wanted release of charged intake air pressure. SIR, it is very hard
to diagnose sounds via the intarweb

check the throttle body boot (TBB). It may have a tear in it.
