spring, no. damper shaft, possibly.

Default you'll have to remove them, compress the dampner shaft and spin it....
should be instructions with the kit as to direction to spin

So do I need a tool to compress the damper shaft ?- no instructions w. the kit unfort

shouldn't need anything to compress just the damper AFAIK

Default Is the coilover already installed on the car?
If so, you might need a spring compressor to remove the spring, so you can compress the piston.
