do the rear brake pads on our cars have wear sensors, and will it trigger the display?

The reason I ask this is because I have my FRONT brakes upgraded...with the wear sensor lines crimped together, so it shorts itself out. My pad wear sensor CHECK LIGHT is on, on my trip computer. If the case is that I don't have rear pad sensors, then that means one of the wires on the front brakes got loose. NOT GOOD. Arghhhh...
I guess I should check this out tomorrow.

There are wear sensors on the front pads only.
Recheck the front wires, make sure they're crimped together well. Did you clip the pad's wiring harness and use that plug? Make sure it's tight.

My wear sensor light was triggered, and I have the same brake situation as you do.
Well I drove it home, and looked in the manual, and saw that '(O)' is the wear sensor. Then I took my car around the block and had NO BRAKES.
I pulled off the wheel, and saw all the stuff was loose, and the ABS sensor wire was torn and wrapped around the axle. It had torn the brake line and I dumped my fluid, and also torn the CV boot. Some $$$ for repair.
Car is supposedly fixed now -- I'll pick it up on Friday.
Not sure how it got loose and caught up on everything -- but if it's loose I'd say don't drive it at all until you've checked it out. Consequences can be bad -- I was *very* lucky my brakes went out (100% completely) 1 block from home.
