So does this mean that the ECU no longer has any control? What happens if the MBC fails? Can the ECU still go into limp mode if it sees the car over boosting?

Hey Disco...
Mike and I were talking about replacing the N75, but after he borrowed my mbc for his trip to NY, he did it as you said and bypassed the N75. I just checked because you had me doubting myself ;-)
If the mbc failed and it started overboosting I could easily notice by looking at my boost gauge. Right now it is set to max at about 19 psi, and it tapers off at higher rpms becaues of the K03 software. The ECU still has control, the mbc only reduces the peak boost.

I'm planning on running an electronic boost controller to get rid of boost spiking and reduce some lag....and be able to control boost from my seat.
What benefits are you seeing with the MBC on an S4?

The mbc makes it so the car DOES NOT spike at all. Whatever amount you set it at is the max the car will get. With the mbc you obviously have to pop the hood to change the boost, and you have to keep playing with it until you get the exact amount of boost you desire.

I would assume $$$.
Having no boost spiking actually keeps EGTs lowers as far as I've heeard. This would allow a tuner to run some more mid range timing as well if they wanted to.
Are you seeing quicker boost response as well with the MBC?
