Does anyone know of a manual steering rack that would work in the S4?
I know lots of older VWs and Audis came with manual steering. Does anyone know of any might be compatible with the S4?

No, but I've seen p/s racks converted to manual by connecting the inlet and outlet ports.
If you can't find a manual rack, you could consider doing this to a rack with slower ratio than the S4's.

2nd! I actually did this to a SAAB 900T I had "back in the day" ;)
It was mainly because I was a poor college student and couldn't afford a new pump. Nevertheless, it made a performance difference... and it drove perfectly fine to me with no power assist, but I'm a pretty big/strong bish.
