Default does anyone know where the hood switch is (for the alarm)?

just today the alarm started going off repeatedly.

i got:
01369 - Alarm triggered by Hood Switch

most of the time the alarm does not flash the blinkers, as if a door is ajar. once it armed properly and immidiately the alarm sounded off; that's when i pulled off the code.

is there a way to disable the hood sensor thru central lock programming via vagcom?

TIA.

Something like $5.00 for the part. It's under the rubber corregated pyramid shaped boot.

Default thanks again.

i couldnt find anything under search. it doesn't seem like a common problem.

well, a few messages popped up with the code, but no one addressed the issue specifically.

Default Very easy swap out. Just mark the leads going into the sensor...

IIRC there are two. I may be wrong. Not sure if it matters how you reconnect them, but label them anyway before you disconnect. I'm sure someone can chime in here.

Default hmm.. my car seems to be different.

i'm guessing the picture you posted is of a 00-01 i have a 01.5:

the only thing reasonable i saw was under the latch, where two brown wires go into it:

That is right, it has a plug on it. Don't need to worry about the wires, it only fits one way.

Default Interesting. The photo I showed was from a 1998 Euro S4. Never checked my 01.5...

The picture showed the same setup as was on my 1997 A4, I assumed that it was still the same. Sorry and good luck!
