I'm thinking that I'd like a race seat for the track, but I'm happy with my OEM seats on the street. I certainly don't want to sacrifice my butt warmers, and I don't want the hassle of every day trouble with race seats & harnesses.
So, if I could find a set of race seats (doesn't matter if they don't recline - they're strictly for track use) that I could install/remove in about an hour each side, that would be worth it to me to swap seats for each event. Or is that how long it normally takes with any race seat? If so, then let me know, and this thread is moot!

Depends how deep the race seat is, most likely yes.
The problem is that the side bolsters on the race seat place the lap belt squarely across your somach, not your hips. A crash could get really nasty. I have a race seat in the M3, and while I use the stock seat belt on the street, I'll usually buckle the lap belt and the sub strap of the harness so that I'm not thrown stomach first into the stock lap belt.

Ditto. I wouldn't combine a race seat and harnesses without a rollbar.
Plus, if you want to install harnesses with the raceseat, you'll need to drill holes through the floor of the car to mount the lapbelts.

I don't think any of the seat manufacturers make a bracket for our cars that bolt to the factory
mounts, although maybe things have changed. Even if they did though, you'd have to find some way of mounting the sub strap, unless you are planning on going with a 4-point harness.
