Does anyone sandpaper the rotors when swapping pads?

Can't remember what grit I used but 120 rings a bell. Rough is good! ; )

Default Don't really have to, but this will help reduce noise. IMPORTANT - use ONLY garnet sandpaper; if

you use aluminum oxide (the most common form of sandpaper which is grey in color) it will form cementite in the rotor surface which is the hard stuff that causes the pulsing most commonly misdiagnosed as "warped" rotors and there is no way to get rid of this except to change rotors.

So by sanding them with the wrong type of paper, you can kill your rotors! EBC pads have an abrasive coating that help to resurface the rotors during the initial part of the bedding-in process. It works really well, I just put on new GreenStuff pads in front on used rotors.

According to ASE testing materials, you must sand rotors before install.
