Default does the ecu clear limp mode by itself, without clearing codes?

My car goes into limp mode and only allows base boost of 5-6psi. AFter driving around awhile, it will suddenly allow full boost again. I assumed it would remain in limp mode until the fault code was cleared.

The limp mode is caused by the avc-r causing positive boost deviations at part throttle. I can drive around all day if I'm carefull to only go either WOT or keep off the throttle.. It's easy since that's pretty close to my usual driving style I'm going to try a modified tcd idea before scrapping apr. thanks

Default yes, if i recall it will reset from limp after a certain amount of starts...

not sure how many though.

i recall when i had a bad MAF in my 2000 it would be in limp with a CE light and then every once in a while it would reset and be fine.
