Default Does GIAC increase the ECU's requested boost, or lie about the ECU's actual boost?

A guy on the Audizine Forums was posting about a problem he had with his OCT boost gauge. The gauge is only showing stock boost, even though the ECU is chipped.

Anyone seen this before, I'm just curious...<ul><li><a href="http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&amp;threadid=102000">http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&amp;threadid=102000</a</li></ul>

Given that VAG-COM will output logs with increased boost, I'm guessing it ups the requested boost.

Default My guess is that he may have a flashloader ECU and left program in stock mode.

An easy way to tell is to check it with a VAG.

Default what if there is a TCD, will it show anything more than 1 bar?

How does one log boost in the presence of a TCD?

Since the purpose of the TCD is to lie about boost, I don't think you can log actual boost with TCD

Sounds like he is on K03's. No purpose to have TCD.

As a mental exercise, hypothetically if he had a TCD, I would expect logged boost to be incorrect.
