have to have you up for lunch to help me plead the case.

have to see what the bimmer dealers are willing to do in the meantime. if they don't cough up solutions that i find resonable i'll have to sink more money into the S to keep it nice and clean.

Default Yes. Your second pic shows three lower control arms, --->

It is part # 25 (lower left) on the pic from the parts catalogue above.

Default Bentley explains it better than I could. But two points: --->

You can rent the tool to remove the ball joint from an auto parts store.
Bolt 1 is hard to get out, unless you remove bolts 2 and 3 first.
