Default I've tried to "use it well" and it didn't work out. More frustration and "going postal" on the rear

brake than ever. When I got the kit, I felt like an idiot wasting all that time with the little cube. Like they say, do it right and do it once is probably the best way to handle it.

Default Sombody posted a pic (MarkP?) with the cube welded to the threaded part of a large c-clamp.

I bought the clamp and the cube, but haven't done rear brakes yet...

well, when you try to compress a seized caliper with a breaker bar, that tends to happen

Default You can do it. That's how I did mine.....

Grind two of the nubs off of the only side that fits so there are only two nubs. Get a big C-clamp and a pair of vise grips. Tighten the clamp and turn the cube. Re tighten the c- clamp and turn the cube etc. It works fine once you get the hang of it. Make sure the pad springs are set in the right place once you put the new pads on as well.

Default the objection is that the little cube thing is a piece of cr^&%p and it will probably give many.

people a headache.

That's what's so nice about Audiworld. You see, you come on here, ask a question and hear about all the headaches people have had after doing their rear brakes with the cube.

You then hear about this great little tool you can buy for $40 (that can also be used on tons of different cars, not just Audis) that will save you a big headache.

If you're not on the backing plates, order the $40 tool, keep it for future use and save the $7 that you'll spend on the bottle of Advil since you avoided a headache.

Also, FWIW, you can post your message in the subject line...
