Default Door handle torsion spring: I just made an order of custom springs to replace the broken door

handle one.

Instead of replacing the entire handle.

I'll probably get them next week and try them out for fitment then.

If you want one or two, let me know. They'll be around $5-6 each to cover my costs + what the other company is charging to ship them to me + about a $1 profit each.

But, that sure beats paying $50+ for a new handle.

I'll post here once I find out if they work properly.

Email me if you are interested and I'll let you know via email if they work or not. Then you can decide if you want one.

Last I checked, the handle was only $35. Could've gone up since then.

Default I looked at ECS, and theirs is now $47 for the left side + shipping from what I could tell.

And their shipping prices are extraordinary.

their right side is still $35.

I guess one could buy the right side and take out the spring, provided it's the correct direction, which it probably is not.

I had to make the offer, since I'll have a bunch of springs I won't need due to the minimum order.

Even if I threw them all away, though, I still will have spent less than the $50 or so to replace the handle.

I figured if it works, I'd be able to help somebody out for around $5 and the cost of a stamp.

Default if it works, i'm interested... i just snapped the second one in a year...

now i just pull the lever and then push it back whenever i open the door...

its not the spring thats breaking on me though, its the little notch in the actual handle that brakes off, allowing the spring to spin freely around the hinge...

I'm game. I 'fixed' mine, but it's shaky at best

Default I've heard that it's a PITA to swap out just the spring. Otherwise, more of us would've done that

instead of replacing the handle.

I read that too. I just have to try it for my own conscience.
