Door Hinges
I recently took my 2001 s4 avant in for service for Sticky door hinges. They informed me the car needs new hinges and would be sent to the body shop. Then they said the avant is different from the sedan, in that the dash board needs to be removed in order to have the hinges replaced. The sedan does not have to pull the dash in order for new hinges. Thus i did not want the dash removed and am living with sticky hinges. Could the avant be different than the sedan?

Re: weird. i'd be VERY surprised if avant was diff from sedan in the way they say. but i dunno
it is upsetting to think about. I have a 01 sedan as well, about a year ago the hinges of that car became sticky as well. a LOT of lube later and they are good. I guess i got it early enough on the sedan.
