Default Downpipe removal...Stuck....finishing by tomorrow?

In the middle of removing the downpipes, following step by step instructions from the tech section...

Passenger Side: Both top and bottom flange bolts are removed, as well as egt and o2 sensor. I can BARELY budge the bolt closest to the wheelwell, from underneath the car, with an open 17mm wrench. Simply not enough room to use some extension dealy, as the head of the socket (normal depth) hits the upcoming DP.... How on earth does everyone get this out?
What about the Innermost bolt?
- Heatshield removal would seem key, as i could probably remove them from the engine bay....

Driver's Side: Bottom bolt and wheelwell side bolts are off (this side had more room for some reason to take them off from under the car. Unscrewed both 5mm allens there, heatshield is loose and about, just like the other side but wont come off? Looks like there is a whole in this for o2 removal.

How on earth do you remove those bolts? Do you take the heatshield off? All the wiggling in the world didnt help...How on earth?

Default 17mm GearWrench flex head ratchet box-end. Get them at Sears and other places.

Can get all 8 bolts off in about 5 min with it...

Loosen/take off the heat shield bolts so the shields can move back an inch or so.

Default Or even the stubby 17mm GearWrench makes this job a breeze!

Default I think it is very difficult to get the shields off w/o removing the DP but I've

just yanked them with the DPs, never tried separately. Have another set here we'll install in a few weeks that I want to try wby lowering the rear of the Sframe instead of taking the tranny mounts off. Should go a little easier/faster I'm told.

Default Those wrenches saved me otherwise I'd still be under the car...
