Hi everyone, I just purchased a used 2001 S4 and am now experiencing issues that I wish I identified during the test drive!
There is a speed related whine/groan coming from the front of the car. The pitch of the whine changes as I weave left and right as well as reaches a definite rhythm around 40 MPH. It also seems to be loudest around 40 MPH. I had a shop look at it and they said the front wheels seem to be bent, which would cause the noise. They also stated that the tires may be causing the noise as well.
Any suggestions on what to check in order to narrow down the possible casues?
TIA!
