Default Duct tape holds the universe together. ;-)

Anybody ever tried this fix on the driver's rocking seat, or just on the passenger seat like in the link?

Default Update on duct tape fix for a rocking seat...

I've had to redo my passenger-side seat once since my original post. The bushings continue to wear down. At the same time, I did my driver-side seat, too (it had begun to rock as well).

Next time I need to fix it, I'm just gonna replace the bushings and see how that goes.

Thank you for the update. How long did the duct tape fix last initially?

Default A little more than a year, probably...

Obviously the bushing starts to wear down immediately, if slowly. So it was a little more than a year from the date of the adjustment to where the rocking annoyed me enough to redo the work (taking out seats is not my favorite activity).

Default There is no fix. I have gone through 2 BBB Arbitration hearings, won both and all AoA will do is

R&R the seat frame, which does not fix the problem. Apparently there is no fix and evidence from AoA given during my Arbitration hearing reveals that there is no spec for how much seat rocking is allowable. If you want the information, e-mail me and I will fax you the info. You can STFA and see my posts on this. If the dealer says ANYTHING about seat working per factory specs, they are lying. Based upon what AoA revealed during my hearing, ANY motion at all is a per se defect in the seat.

I am in the middle of deciding whether to go to court over this or not. Arbiter said that this will affect the resale value of my car and I agree. Since AoA cannot fix, my cars value is permanently damaged due to a non-repairable defect. Good luck; I wish there was good news to tell you, but there isn't in this case.
