1. remove exhaust
2. remove heatshield above exhaust
3. unbolt front of shaft from tranny with six 6mm allen bolts (get a socketed allen for this. 3/8" air gun makes life very easy. You'll need to rotate the wheels to get the shaft to spin to access all six, so put the car on 4 jackstands to make life easy. Have someone with you to rotate the rear tires to spin the shaft while youre under the car
4. unbolt rear or shaft from rear diff flange. I dont know what pattern bolt this is b/c ive never removed it, but its probably a 6mm allen like the front (no guarantees)
if CVs are stuck with corrosion. use BFH (big ****ing hammer) and a drift or whatever to knock them loose. BE SURE TO HIT THE CV NOT THE FLANGE. the flange is raised a bit. there is a little groove on the cv that i placed a blunt chisel on to break it loose. Direct energy away from differentials.
watch out for falling driveshaft!
reinstall. I dont know the torque specs offhand, i think they might be like 45ft/lb, but find out beforehand. tighten in criss-cross pattern for even torque loading.
reinstall heat shield and exhaust. and youre done. total time id guess an hour or two if you are pretty proficient. if you take your time it could take longer. Good luck.
