LOL - I make my rounds. Anyway, I know of the perfect one for you.
Cherokee Chapter is having a school at Road Atlanta in early May.

A mandatory post-track writeup is expected!

That's exactly what you'll learn at a track event. And if you've never been to one...
I doubt you know what the limits are.
If you have the money, one of the professional schools would be great, but the ACNA schools are a fantastic value, and you'll learn so much about yourself and your car.

I ran stock all last season, and will likely do the same this season.
It's so much fun to accomplish a pass on a faster *car* by being a faster *driver*. It doesn't always happen, and I'm often the slower driver, but when it does, it's a good feeling.
Plus, Raj's comment about the throttle coming on smoother when stock is a big reason why I continue to run stock. When the car is close to the limit, I need to be able to know that power delivery will be smooth and consistent.

FWIW, I've heard a few people on this board say that they were disappointed w/ pro schools they
attended, though I'm sure its mostly because they expect a lot out of them since they're usually $1k and [way] on up. I don't think I've ever heard anyone on this forum say an ACNA event was a waste of time and money. They're probably gonna be a little more hit and miss since it will depend much more on the event organizer and especially on your instructor - but I was very impressed with the value of the one I attended. And just because you lap a track doesn't mean "tracking" is the only thing you're learning how to do. Its helped many facets of my driving, and I've only been to one =P

Porsche Driving Experience....
<center><img src="http://www.porschedriving.com/images/the_activities/main.jpg"></center><p>Expensive, but well worth it. The trick is to convince your dad to do it with you.
It's in Birmingham, at the Barber Motorsports Track. The instructors are professional race car drivers, I even had Hurley Haywood sitting in my passenger seat for a session (legendary Porsche driver).
Just tell your dad you need to spend some more quality time together.<ul><li><a href="http://www.porschedriving.com/">http://www.porschedriving.com/</a></li></ul>

Yeah, it really improves overall driving - not many people realize that.
This will be my fourth year on the track, and I still don't feel like I'm ready for a pro-level school. Maybe in 2007, but I'm also a seat time junkie, and that would cut into my budget. Who knows.
