Default was driving an evo yesterday and noticed the boost will spike at 20 and hold at 18 more.............

all the way through redline the car feels amazing and pulls really hard (12.3 1/4 mi et)i was wondering why chip tuners tune the boost to tapper of as the rpm's increase i know it is for the longevity of our turbos but for out right performance i would think allowing the same amount of boost to be obtained through the entire rev range would be highly beneficial wouldn't you say?

'Cause turbos are not big enough to blow full boost at high rpm no matter what boost you request.

Default the s4 turbos are low inertia turbos - the point is that it's designed ...(m) [edit]

to spool quickly and help with low end torque --not high-end power.

check out the boost map differences between an s4 and rs4. if you really want high end output, get k04's which are designed and capable of sustaining peak boost.

You'll just be blowing hot air and overspooling the turbos.
