has a less sensitive area right around center. This helps "absorb" small bumps and seams etc...the Porsche has 0 change in ratio around center so it's very sensitive ALL the time. Can be tiresome on a bumpy road or one with lots of seams where the Audi soaks most of that up without much complaint. It's part of the luxury-sport compromise in the S4.
Some in the press critisized it but it wouldn't make ANY sense to have a 4 door luxury-sports sedan that one had to steer every single second...wouldnt be any luxury in that.
