Default I didnt touch the intake manifold...

so that shouldnt be an issue. as for placement, look at blitz's old setup, and that is pretty much where i would put mine, except my tube runs on the other side of the engine. I cant tell how the sensor is oriented, but I see it about 6" from throttle body.

Default You should be able to hook the map clamp alone to the 9v batt and volt meter.

I use a zener diode.

Default I did vag the car...

I let it do a TBA, and than started it up.

The pressure test would reveal a manifold leak, which it did not. I pressurized to about 10psi this time(lower than usual 15), and it held very nicely, to that point where i took it off a minute later with pressure still holding. Ill send you something to look at.

Default hmmm, i think im using wrong terminology perhaps...

the pressure/boost sensor is what im talking about. Its stock location is about 2 inches from the throttle body. this would mean it is not IN the manifold.

basically I would like this little bosch pressure sensor of mine mounted downstream the 3inch tube by maybe 6 inches or so.
If you really think this cannot ever run right, than I will figure a way out to mount it closer to throttle body. the pressure differential between 6 inches isnt much in my mind, and i have seen this done on a4's all the time with fmic's. that picture that a person showed was a a4 ic pipe, and it must have been moved over a foot than stock location.
i think we may be worrying on something that doesnt need this much thinking. ? i will look into the a4 fmic's more, since they use the same boost/pressure sensor. t
thanks.

Default Ok, saw pic's of his setup "in progress" and must admit it's quite solid.

Maybe a couple minor tweaks are needed to make it optimal. He really did a good job in planning and executing.

He asked me not to share specifics, but I will say that it's been well executed for something best described as a prototype.

I think, that if completed as intended, we'll have to whip out the PEB stamp of approval.

Default You want it outside the throttle plate, not on/in the intake mani where it sees mani vacuum.

Just to clarify. Near the throttle, outside of the manifold, like the OE unit. This way, boost changes from throttle closure can be most quickly detected.
