You just have to ask what the F**K would someone buy an M3 then blow up the motor for some NAAAAWWWZZZ for?
No matter what an M3 is a SLOW drag car and it's engine costs more than 2 or 3 entire cheapo drag cars which would blow it into the weeds without working up a sweat.
Man, that's just stupid IMHO and he got what he deserved.

and sacrifices it's reliability for the sake of drag racing...where it's a pathetically SLOW drag racer.
I understand what's fun about drag racing and going faster but there is a point where you basically sacrifice all your money converting an unsuited car into something it wasn't designed to do.
V8's rule drag strips.
Here's an 11 second car that's currently selling for about what the EXHAUST SYSTEM costs on that M3...He says he invested $12,000 TOTAL...bet that replacement engine costs that guy upwards of $20k for his 13 second M3.

Buy a V8 if you really want to go fast.
