Default Are ebay silicon hoses any good?

I want to replace my old hoses, 8+ years running high temp pressure air. I figure its time. Plus I'm sick of checking my TBB on a regular basis, and I'm getting sick of seeing that spare laying in my trunk.

I'm not going to lay down all the extra money for samco hoses since I'm on K03s. And I see how there could be a $300 differance besides branding.

Should I do it?

have a link to the page?

With stuff like the hoses, some of which can be a pain to replace, and which can fail without throwing codes and so forth, I would personally err on the safe side and go with proven stuff. Still, I always thought the samco stuff was a little pricey..

Here are the hoses I was looking at, I got the idea from some one on the fourm last week. Found the post: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...php?p=23733180 obviously he hasn't tested the hoses since he is doing a crazy build. But if they are good enough for that build, I can't see any issue with K03s.

I was just going to buy this kit and do them as time goes on. Not looking to replacce all of them right now. but the TBB and intercooler ones at some point.

Default ...not a bad deal

Wow. He's swapping out everything but the kitchen sink!

As for the hoses, I dunno. They look fine, and it's a great price, but I guess you never know until they're on the car..I do like how they claim it will give you 10-12 hp! If you're not in a hurry then waiting to see how Jibber feels about his set is probably worth it.

Default Yeah, it makes those Samco hoses look like a real ripoff at any rate.

I RAIN-Xed my car yesterday, must have added 50 horses. Assuming you had a small boost leak they could actually give you those gains no problem... But I don't think thats what they were trying to say.

Silicon sounds brittle. You should try silicone hoses.

Arg.... Price of being an electrical engineer. No spelling skills and common word swaps.

I say go for it.... I was less than impressed by the quality and fit and finish of my Samco kit. I had to do a lot of trimming INSIDE the Y pipe/Bypass adapters because there was about 1/2 inch of casting flash inside just hanging out in the air path.

Wow, for that price you would figure they would have already taken care of the trimming/finishing. I would bet the ebay ones don't have that issue. Although they are probabaly made by orphans getting paid 10 cents per day.

On the bright side, orphan labor produces great quality products. Nothing motivates high job performance like the threat of starvation!
