Default I have bought many a car on a "pre-approval" loan bank gives you a check for

"up to 25,000" or what ever you are pre-approved for, and it is a valid bank check. I write it for 17,000, then my loan starts monday for 17,000.

Default can you cut the check to yourself?

and wouldn't that be a signature loan instead of a loan on the car? it seems like she got a loan for the car itself.

odd though...i've sold many cars...25 at least. When a bank puts out a loan on a car, the want the title in exchange for the check and they want to see the car. at least thats what i've seen. (though i have sold cars to unsavoury people in the past)

Default Solid backup plan. If you said cash or wire, and she show up with a check

in any form, I would not accept it.

Cashier's checks can be forged and duplicated.

Default No, you can't cut the check to yourself, and its a car loan because the VIN is placed on the check

and if you buy a 5,000 dollar car for like 24,000 dollars they will make the portion of the loan not secured by the car (in this case 19,000) I have never had a problem with a seller accepting it, because there is a number on the back to call and verify the check

Default No, If they were to give cash (greenbacks) she might not spend it on the car

They would not take that chance

Agree and if she's cute, take her out. Maybe she can ride something else besides the car. ; )
