Default ECU

How do i know what ecu i have. i keep hearing a-box, m-box, your momma's box. what's up? Help me out.

Look at the last letter on the ECU that will determine what "box" you have.

Default three ways to check...

1) open ECU tray, look at ECU, read the last character -- That's the letter of the box you have.

2) plug in a VAG-COM, click Engine and see what ECU code comes up

3) figure it out by looking <a href="http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Generations">at the S4 wiki</a>

unless it was recoded to an M-Box, yes.
