ECU Explorer connection quirk issue, any help appreciated

Brett, tried that, still did not work. I think the problem might be that
the adapter I am using to connect to the Audi OBD-2 port supports K line but not Dual K line. I tried another cable- the vag-com twin com cable and it worked fine. the only difference between the two cables was one had 4 pins on the OBD2 connector ( Twin-Com cable ) and the other one had only three pins coming out of it ( that one that won't work ) so I am assuming you need a cable/connector to support dual K line functionality.
Noce to know about the NEW CABLE design and hope you can add me to your waiting list ?????

That's sort of up in the air...
We are working with a new protocol (actually, several new protocols but one specifically that is relevant to the B5 S4), and we will make a determination once we have completed the performance analysis of that protocol. Certainly, the new cable will be required for some of the newest cars that use CAN. We have incorporated an entirely new logging engine that streamlines the process of switching between protocols but to implement the old protocol would require some work. The new protocol will require the new cable because of special hardware requirements. We will also offer the option of integrating external dataloggers for adding things just as additional temp or pressure senders.

This one ...

I got the less expensive version, works as advertised for vag-com even works fine with Lemmi but ECUx doesn't like it... both are suppose to support VAG K Line communications.

That would be awesome to see it work with something like the Zeitronix or LM1
so one could capture wide band 02 data from one of these loggers. Narrow band doesn't quite do it.

Hmm, don't know anything about that cable. ECUX is more demanding on the cable-
because of the higher transfer rates. I still would have thought that it would work at the lower baud rates but we have never seen or tested the cable you referenced. You said you could check DTCs with ECUX so it is definitely connecting. Dunno, weird...
