Having trouble installing the old driver of vag-com to work with ECUx. When I try to install the driver, it asks for RT-USB.sys file. The Vag-Com release 504 on EdyJun's website doesnt have this file so what needs to be done? Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA

the first tip I have for you is to get ECUx on its own USB port. Put vag-com and lemmi on the other port.
What I would personally do is uninstall everything until you get ECUx working. The less confusion the better.
Then install the VAG-com driver only, not the vag software, on your ECUx dedicated port. Then install ECUx and see where you get. Lots of peeps have had to use USB to serial adapters to get ECUx working.
Also, once you get the VAG drivers installed and ECUx installed, make sure they are both on the same COM port. Go into your driver properties to double check this. You should be on ports 1-4, ECUx can't go higher than that.
ECUx is a bitch.
Try that out and come back with what errors/issues you are having.

Vag-com used with Version 504 b/c supposedly that allows you to use the Rosstech cable with ECUx. I just ordered the cheap USB cable from vagproduct.com, changed the ports in Device Manager (Windows XP) for that cable to match up with the port listed in ECUx, and then I could log with ECUx. I had no luck finding that old driver. You might want to contact Rosstech. Maybe they could email you that driver if they still have it on their system.

I never said it "needs" a serial emulator. I said "some" peeps have had to use one to get it working. A lot of it depends on your PC. My lappy didn't support the old VAG-com drivers and would just blue screen when the driver was accessed. Yes, Blue screen on XP.
Serial emulator was a no go as well. I actually went with a PCMCIA card and a generic serial VAG-COM cable and now it works like a champ.
FYI - ECUx and support should not be used in the same sentence. The only answer is just to play with it until you can get it to work.
