Default Education needed: Which suspension component(s) affect nose dive under breaking the most?

The nose dive under hard braking with the stock suspension is too abrupt for smooth transitions. So what do I do to make the most significant change?
- Lower the car
- Increase the Spring Rate
- Put the transmission in the trunk
- other

Default Increase spring rate with matched shocks

or get a set of coilovers

The key is to match your dampening (shocks) with the springs. Why? Because stiff springs matched with soft shocks will make you feel like you are driving a pogo stick.

For some reason, I find that quite funny...maybe it's because of the visual.
